Blue wash: Defending penalty area · Gold box: Marking, goal protection and second ball · Gold rings: key roles
Blue plays toward the top goal. The shaded area identifies the phase; supporting roles may sit outside it. All 22 players retain their 4-3-3 positions.
Starting picture · Blue: Northbridge · Sand: opposition · Gold rings: focus players · White dot: ball
A starting picture for the practice, with the focus players highlighted. Both teams keep their 4-3-3 roles; movement and decisions develop through live play.
Organization
Full pitch, 11v11 including goalkeepers, with both teams retaining 4-3-3 roles. Defend a right-side opponent corner; goalkeeper 1, centre-backs 4 and 5, and full-backs 2 and 3 set their responsibilities.
Practice task
Before the restart, 1 confirms goal-area cover, 4 and 5 identify central threats, and 2 and 3 account for wide arrivals. Midfielder 8 watches the short option while defensive midfielder 6 protects the edge; play remains live.
What to observe
On five of six corners, every immediate threat has an identified defender or protected zone before delivery, with no unopposed runner entering the central finishing space.
Progression
Attackers change starting positions before the restart; defenders communicate any handover without changing their normal positional roles.
